I'll lay down some steps and details to help you deposit payment into your bank account.
Just to clarify, is the deposit payment from an invoice raised for your customer? If that's the case, we can use the Receive payments function and deposit the funds to your bank account in QuickBooks. Here are the steps:
Click the + New button.
Select Receivepayment.
Under Customer, select the customer's profile.
Under Paymentmethod, select Check.
Set the correct Payment date.
For the Depositto drop-down menu, select your bank account.
Under the Outstanding Transactions section, check the invoice, then make sure the payment amount is correct.
Add other information such as a memo if needed.
Once done, click Save and close.
If you're trying to record a deposit or a retainer to your bank account, there's a certain way of doing this in QuickBooks. We can follow the step-by-step guide here: Record a retainer or deposit.
However, if this is just a regular deposit from a check, we can use the Bank deposit function. Here are the steps:
Click the + New button again.
Select Bankdeposit.
Under Account, select your bank account.
Set the Date of the deposit.
Under Add funds to this deposit, add the customer profile if needed.
Select an account under Account.
For the Paymentmethod, select Check.
Add the amount under Amount.
Enter other information such as a reference number or a memo if needed.
Once done, click Save and close.
If that isn't the case, you mentioned something about a paycheck. Would this be an owner's draw that you're trying to deposit to your live bank account? A guide can be found here: Set up and pay an owner's draw.
Do you want to track this deposit and see the full view of your financials through reports? We have a guide to help you with this: Run reports in QuickBooks Online.
If you have any other concerns about depositing funds to your bank account, or if you want to clarify something, reply here and we'll work it out. If you have other concerns about your reports and other entries, let me know the details in your reply.
