Hello there, Chymos. To clarify, QuickBooks Online (QBO) can't match multiple downloaded bank transactions to a single manually recorded entry. The system only matches transactions with equal amounts or smaller than the downloaded amounts, so when your manual entry is larger than each individual downloaded transaction, QBO does not recognize them as a match.
To keep your records accurate and your reconciliation process simple, you can follow these options:
Go to the Accounting > Bank transactions tab, check the boxes next to the two split charges, and select Exclude. This ensures your manual entry remains the official record and removes the downloaded transactions to prevent double counting your expenses.
Alternatively, you can delete the single manual entry and re-record it as two separate transactions that matches the amounts of the two downloaded bank entries. By matching the merchant’s split, QuickBooks Online will instantly recognize and pair both entries in your banking feed, keeping your books and bank statements in perfect sync.
