I can't get an account to upload transactions - it is greyed out

We can work together to resolve the issue preventing you from updating and uploading transactions in QuickBooks Solopreneur.

 

Before we proceed, could you please clarify whether you are referring to the connected grayed-out bank account in the Bank Transaction page or if you're unable to select a bank when uploading transactions?

 

Please note that a grayed-out account may be disabled; this means it will stop importing transactions and will not automatically update.

 

To confirm this, please follow these steps:

 

  1. Click the Gear icon and select the Manage Connections tab.
  2. Check your accounts and turn on the Radio button on the left side for the affected account.

  3. In the Enable this Account window, select Enable Now.

 

Additionally, here are some common causes why QuickBooks doesn’t update or upload transactions from the bank feed:

 

  • Bank connection errors or an expired link between QuickBooks Online and your financial institution.
  • The account may be inactive, or there might be maintenance at your bank or QuickBooks.
  • Browser-related display glitches.

 

If the issue involves the grayed-out banking page, we suggest refreshing your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account by logging out and then logging back in. It forces your browser to load the most recent version of the application. If the problem persists, try accessing your QBO account using a different supported web browser or incognito mode to help resolve any syncing issues.

 

If the issue persists, I recommend visiting your bank’s website to check for any maintenance announcements or system alerts explaining why updating transactions is not proceeding.

 

Once everything is in order, you can manually upload transactions to ensure that all data in your QuickBooks Solopreneur account is accurate and up-to-date.
