If you are able to complete the connection with your bank account but no transactions seem to appear, start with a manual update since a stuck connection often clears up on its own. If it's still not connecting, the cause is usually one of two things: searching under the wrong account name, or an outdated browser blocking the connection. Here's how to check both.
Step 1: Try a manual update
- Go to Bookkeeping, then Transactions, then Bank transactions.
- Select Update.
Connecting an AT&T Universal Business or CitiBusiness card?
Citibank recently changed how some of its business card accounts connect to QuickBooks. If you can't find your card when searching for it, try searching under a different name instead:
- AT&T Universal Business Rewards, CitiBusiness® Platinum Select, CitiBusiness ThankYou® Card, or CitiBusiness® World Card: search for AT&T Universal Business / CitiBusiness Cards.
- CitiChairman® American Express® Card: search for Citi Chairman AmEx Cards.
Seeing a "please upgrade your browser" message?
This means the bank's website doesn't recognize your current browser version.
- Make sure you're using a supported browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari) updated to its latest version. QuickBooks supports the current version and two previous versions of each; older versions, including Internet Explorer, aren't supported.
- Try connecting again in a private or incognito browser window to rule out cached data or extensions getting in the way.
Once you're connected, you're all set to start categorizing and matching your Citibank transactions in QuickBooks.
Let us know how it goes, or if you're seeing a different message than what's covered here.
