When a Wells Fargo connection stops downloading transactions or won't reconnect, the most common causes are a change on your bank's side, like an outage, a required message you need to act on, or updated sign-in info, so start there before anything else.
Check your Wells Fargo connection at the source
- Go to All apps, then Accounting, then Bank transactions.
- Select Link account. You won't add a new account here, you just need the listed URL for your bank.
- Copy the URL listed for Wells Fargo, then sign in to Wells Fargo directly using that URL in a new tab.
- If you can sign in without any errors, check your account for any messages, notifications, or required actions, and look for anything that might look like a display issue as you browse. These can silently block QuickBooks from downloading new transactions.
Update your sign-in info if anything changed
- Go to All apps, then Accounting, then Bank transactions.
- Select the tile for your Wells Fargo account.
- Select the Edit icon, then Edit sign-in info.
- Enter your current Wells Fargo login details, then select Save and connect.
If you've already cleared your browser's cache, tried an incognito window, and tested a different browser (all good troubleshooting steps) and the connection still won't come back, reach out to QuickBooks Online Support so they can review the specific connection on your account.
