I just completed a bank reconciliation and utilized the incorrect statement ending date. How do I reverse the reconciliation or change the statement ending date?

Yes, you can reverse a completed bank reconciliation, @mkozub.

Once you’ve already completed the reconciliation, the option to change the ending date in QuickBooks Online (QBO) is unavailable. You’ll need to undo your reconciliation to fix it. Here’s how:

  1. Click on the Gear icon or Settings and select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Locate the account you need to work on, then click View Register.
  3. Find the transactions you want to unreconcile.
  4. Click on the R status repeatedly until it turns blank or to cleared (C).
  5. Press Save to finalize your changes.

You can also ask for assistance from your accountant through a QBO Accountant to undo an entire reconciliation.
