I can explain why you can't connect your bank to QuickBooks Online (QBO), John.
If connecting to your bank is currently unavailable, it could be due to ongoing maintenance at your financial institution. To verify this, I recommend visiting your bank's website and checking for maintenance notifications or contacting your financial institution.
Additionally, could you please let me know if you encountered any errors while trying to link your bank to QBO? Providing this information will allow us to offer more specific guidance.
In the meantime, I suggest using a private browser to log into your QBO account. Once logged in, copy your bank's URL link and paste it into the QBO search bar. This method will help you search and connect to your bank directly. Kindly follow these steps:
Go to the Transactions menu, then choose Bank Transactions.
Click Link account.
In the search field, enter your bank's URL.
Select your bank.
Enter your Sign in info in the Login and Password fields, then select Continue.
Select the account and date from the dropdown, then click Next.
Choose your account type on the Account type dropdown, then hit Next.
After connecting your bank to QBO, you can categorize your online bank transactions within the For Review tab.
