Change occurred with Tangerine last week. I notified QuickBooks, but they haven't updated the software yet.

I appreciate you notifying QuickBooks about the update and understand your need to connect your Tangerine Bank Account in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE), @John411.

Beforehand, please note that if your financial institution updates its security protocols, we will work closely with them to manage the changes.

While waiting for the QBSE bank connection update, I suggest manually importing your transactions to keep your records accurate.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon and choose Imports.
  2. Select Import transactions.
  3. To upload your CSV file, follow the onscreen process.
  4. Tick Import to complete the process.

You can hit the Reply button below for additional inquiries related to QBSE. We're here to assist you in any way we can.

@John411

Try using csv2qbo converter tool for the time being.

My tangerine account was working but now it says my username and pin don’t work and when I click the link to go to the bank it all works there

quickbooks should change the request to LOGIN ID & password rather than account number

Yeah, simple fix. Waiting for about three weeks now...

Has this issue been resolved for anyone yet? I'm replying four months later, with the same issue. Tangerine has switched from PIN to password for log in, but Quickbooks is requesting a new PIN.

Hi there, @Harvey14. I understand the importance of connecting your bank, and I appreciate the effort you’ve put into addressing this issue.

To start, please know that our QuickBooks system engineers are already reviewing this issue and are actively working with your bank to resolve the compatibility and data-sharing concerns.

In the meantime, I recommend manually importing your transactions to ensure your records stay accurate.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and choose Imports.
  2. Select Import transactions.
  3. To upload your CSV file, follow the onscreen process.
  4. Click Import to complete the process.

We’re always here to help you if you have any other concerns.

It appears this has been a known issue for at least four months, and I am having difficulty understanding how resolving it could reasonably take this long.

I encounter this or similar connection issues approximately twice a year with different bank accounts. When the accounts are eventually reconnected, there is often significant data disruption that I am unable to fully resolve myself, which results in additional bookkeeping costs with my accounting firm.

I manually import the transactions when necessary; however I would appreciate any proactive steps Quickbooks could take to help prevent these connection issues from occurring in the future, rather than addressing them only after they arise.

The new setup with Tangerine online banking requires a minimum 12 character PW. QuickBooks will allow only 6 characters for PW. Please fix this issue ASAP, this would be essential for connecting my QuickBooks bookkeeping to my Bank Account for downloading the transactions! Thank you!

I understand the urgency in getting your Tangerine account linked, JNS007. Let's see how we can address this so you can manage the password length during the setup process.

To establish a successful connection, QuickBooks Online (QBO) requires you to select specific Tangerine login portal that matches your account type. Given that personal and business accounts are hosted on separate web addresses, using the correct link ensures your transactions sync accurately.

Here's how:

  1. Go the Bank Transactions and select Connect an Account
  2. Search for Tangerine in the list of available institutions.
  3. You may see several options, such as Tangerine or Tangerine - Business.
  4. Choose the link that aligns with the specific URL you navigate to when accessing your Tangerine account online.

Once you select the correct Tangerine connection option, the password field should accept your full 12+ character password without any restrictions.

Feel free to reply to this post if you need further assistance.

Both Tangerine options under QuickBooks Self Employed allow 6 digit PIN codes for PW. However, Tangerine updated their online security recently and will require a minimum 12 character PW for accessing the bank accounts (business or personal) that cannot be entered currently.

Other than providing useless tips here can someone at QuickBooks fix the issue ASAP, please?

Thank you.
