Rather than go out and try to come up with a business idea for the sake of it, I recognized that the skills I have– particularly writing and marketing- were in demand. Businesses across industries need help with branding, marketing, and writing about themselves.

I always liked the idea of working for myself, but it was never a realistic goal until the obvious opportunity presented itself. I started writing for clients on the side, while I had a full-time job, and soon it became obvious that what I was doing was a viable (and real!) business idea. Soon after that, I quite my full-time job and began working for myself!
