I was not aware that products even have classes

Welcome to the Community, @bergracing1.

I’m here to provide some insight in assigning a class to products by batch in QuickBooks Online.

The Batch actions feature does not include assigning a class to Products and Services. You'll have to edit the items and add them one at a time. Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Products and Services.
  2. Look for the item and click Edit on the Action column.
  3. Assign a class by clicking the Class drop-down.
  4. Hit Save and close.

You can also manually assign a class to a specific product/service when creating an invoice. Let me show you how:

  1. Create an invoice
  2. Assign a class for your product/service under the Class column.
  3. Hit Save and close.

Here are some helpful articles that you can check on to know more about Products and Services:

That should get you pointed in the right direction. Please know I’m only a couple of clicks away if you need anything else. Have a great day ahead!

I don't see a Class drop-down. I guess just some users have this

What I would like to do is assign a class to a group of products. Almost 40. doing them one at a time would be frustrating...

I am surprised Intuit has not yet added this feature.  It seems it would be an easy fix to add the Class field for bulk imports.  I have over 500 products that I would like to add the Class to, but doing it one by one is too time consuming.  I have asked for this feature in the Feedback.  Hopefully, many more will request this feature as well.
