You're not stuck with the default layout: the new dashboard is customizable, so you can get your most-used tasks back to one click and set the widgets to show what's actually useful to you. The newer interface is now the standard experience, so rather than trying to revert, the fastest relief is to set up the Home page, sidebar, and bookmarks around the way you work.
Get to your frequent tasks in one click
Three setups cover most of it: pinned apps, bookmarks, and the global search.
- Pin the hubs you use most so they sit right on the sidebar: select Customize, check the apps you want pinned, and select Save. (Accounting, Sales, and Customers start out pinned, so swap in whatever you actually reach for daily.)
- Bookmark individual screens, like a specific invoices or products page: hover over the page name in All apps and select the bookmark icon next to it, or open the page and select + Bookmark current page from the Bookmarks menu on the sidebar.
- Use the global search on your homepage to jump straight to a page (type "products" or "chart of accounts") instead of drilling through menus. It finds any page on the platform, including help content.

Fix the widgets and the sales graph
You choose which widgets appear and how they're arranged, right from the Home page.
- On the Home page, select Add or remove widgets, then check the widgets you want, including the sales view that works for you.
- Drag widgets to reorder them, and drag the edges to resize the ones that allow it.
- Set a widget's date range to a longer or rolling period so the sales graph shows a trend rather than a single point, and set AP and AR widgets to the range you want (for example, year to date) where that option is offered.

Tell the team what's not working
Specific feedback (like the single-point sales graph or a missing date range) genuinely helps prioritize fixes, and it does get used: the simplified default view and the resizable, reorderable widgets came directly from this kind of input. You can see what's changed so far here: What's new and improved in QuickBooks Online in 2026. To send yours, go to Settings (gear icon), then Feedback: Give feedback on QuickBooks products and services.

We know this redesign asked a lot of you, and rebuilding your daily workflow shouldn't be one more project on your plate. If you tell us the two or three screens you open most and the sales view you want (say, rolling 12 months), we're happy to walk through pinning and setting those up so they're one click away. Hope this helps you make the new layout feel like yours again.
