Today I reinstalled the QB app, and was told it does not work with my iphone, open in browser. So in browser, I do not see how to set up iphone to track.

To resolve that compatibility error and get you back into the mobile app, ensure that you've turned on auto-tracking and your device's location to properly track the trips.

Here's how to turn on auto-tracking:

  1. Open the QuickBooks Self-Employed app.
  2. Go to the Mileage menu.
  3. Select Auto-tracking.
  4. Select the Auto-tracking toggle to turn it on.

Next, check your device location settings:

  1. Go to your iPhone or iPad's Settings.
  2. Scroll down and select the QuickBooks Self-Employed app.
  3. Select Location. Then select Always. Note: Don't select While Using the App. This option doesn't let the app track your mileage consistently.
  4. Turn on the Motion & FitnessBackground App Refresh, and Cellular Data options.
  5. Close your settings.

After that, see if the app is now tracking the miles:

  1. Open the QuickBooks Self-Employed app.
  2. Go to the Mileage menu.
  3. Select Auto-tracking.
  4. Then, click Check mileage settings.

Please note that in a web browser, there's no option to track your mileage for your iPhone.
