Can someone please assist me? I went to review my milage and I noticed that the milage tracker has not been working for a couple weeks. Any suggestions?

The auto-tracking and running in the background should be enabled, John, to ensure uninterrupted mileage tracking.

Here's how to make sure the auto-tracking is on in the QuickBooks mobile app:

On iOS (iPhone and iPad)

  1. Open the QuickBooks mobile app.
  2. Select the Menu icon, then All.
  3. Tap Mileage.
  4. Select Auto-track your miles.
  5. Follow the Allow location access on-screen instructions.

On an Android phone or tablet

  1. Open the QuickBooks mobile app.
  2. Select the Menu icon.
  3. Tap Mileage.
  4. Turn on the Auto-tracking switch.
  5. Give QuickBooks permission to track your location. This will vary depending on your Android Operating System.
  • For Android OS version 10 and below:
    • For location permissions, select Allow. If prompted, select Allow all the time.
    • If you are prompted to allow access to your physical activity, select Allow.
  • For Android OS version 11 and above:
    • For location permissions, select While using the app, then select Ok (if prompted). Then select Allow all the time.
    • If you are prompted to allow access to your physical activity, select Allow.

Once everything is set up correctly, let's review your device's location settings to ensure the app runs in the background, preventing it from tracking your trips only when it's open and active on your screen.

Here's how:

On iOS (iPhone and iPad)

  1. Go to your iPhone or iPad's Settings.
  2. Scroll down and select the QuickBooks app.
  3. Select Location. Then select Always.
  4. Turn on the Motion & FitnessBackground App Refresh, and Cellular Data options.
  5. Close your settings.

If you see a message about background location use, select Always Allow. Don’t select the While Using the App, or Only While Using options. These will prevent the app from tracking your mileage consistently.

Your device and app are now set up to track trips in the background, ensuring mileage tracking continues even when you switch to another app.

On Android (phone or tablet)

The steps for Android devices may vary slightly depending on your device and operating system. Please refer to the Step 2 section in this article to ensure that QuickBooks can run the background on your Android device: Fix mileage tracking issues in the mobile app. This article also provides additional troubleshooting steps if you encounter other problems while tracking your trips.

All of the settings on my phone were correct. I canceled my subscription and downloaded an app that does what I need for less than 1/2 the price as Quickbooks
