Encountered a Payroll Service Connection Error

I received "Message Code 2107 Problem Uploading Data to Service/Sign on was Rejected" one week ago. After calling Intuit and making changes they suggested, the error message switched to "Encountered a Payroll Service Connection Error". Since then, I've worked with no fewer than six (6) Intuit representatives who had me do everything from installing the Tool Hub, delete and re-enter paychecks, delete employee records, check for payroll updates, check for new tax tables, switch between single and multi-user mode, turn off/turn on cloud payroll services, and the list goes on. Four (4) times I was promised a call back from a level 2 support person and all four (4) times I had to initiate the return call to the basic support group.

I ended up printing paper checks. I assume now the data to be sent is just the data to ViewMyPaycheck. However, no one at Intuit will tell me what the issue is and it still is not resolved. This likely means I won't be able to process payroll (direct deposit) next week. It's outrageous that I can't get answers, especially when one considers it is a payroll issue!

I decided to update the version of QuickBooks from Desktop Enterprise 20 to Desktop Enterprise 23. That also did not help the issue.

If anyone has additional information to help me troubleshoot then I'd be grateful to read about it.

Going back and forth is never easy, @SOrlando.  I can provide you with more information on how to bypass QuickBooks Desktop's Message Code 2107.

There are multiple reasons for this error.

1. Legal name has invalid value

The company's business name contains a special character. It is limited to using only letters, numbers, and spaces. You can resolve it by removing the special characters. Here's how:

  1. Open your QBDT company.
  2. Go to the Company menu and click on Company Information.
  3. Change the Legal name to delete special characters.

 2. Employee Name has invalid value

This is likely caused by blank or rebuilt employees. Or a special character is added to the employee's name. It's also limited to using letters and spaces. You'll need to remove the special characters or

3. Error in transmission: Error Paycheck XXXX has no details

4. Error in transmission: Error: Invalid bank account found

5. Error in transmission [Message Code 5001]: AcctNum has invalid value

6. ZipCode has invalid value

This error happens due to improper or incorrect zip code in the company's business information. You can resolve it by editing or adding the correct zip code under the Company menu. Here's how:

  1. Open your QBDT company.
  2. Go to the Company menu and click on Company Information.
  3. Add or edit the zip code.

You can use USPS to help find the correct one.

I'm also adding these modules to find out more details on how to resolve payroll errors. The other article also includes help on common payroll topics.

Thanks for your reply, however, all those suggestions and others were tried while on the phone with QuickBooks support people. I am in contact with someone in the data department at Intuit and I think they will be able to help me.

We're you able to find a solution?

Having the same issue here 2 years later.  Randomly stopped connecting when trying to send a payroll deposit.  I check with my internet provider and all is working.  I can connect to websites, etc. so the problem is on Intuit's end.  I've competed all the steps outline (update, restart, etc.).  Is Intuit having issues?  I'll probably have to send the payments on through the agency's websites.  It's a good thing all direct deposit payrolls were sent earlier this week.
