Hey, @BTown

Welcome to the Community! I'd be more than happy to show you how to clear this payroll liability amount.

Here's how to clear payroll liabilities in QBDT:

  1. Go to the Payroll Center > Pay Liabilities tab.
  2. Select the liabilities to clear.
  3. If the payment has already been made manually, click Mark as paid
  4. If needed, go to Adjust Payroll Liabilities to zero out the balances.

In addition, if you ever need to remove or delete a scheduled payroll liability, check out this link.

In response to your answer, I have a question regarding a problem I am currently facing. We have a pay period the first Thursday and another on the third Thursday of each month. After running the first pay period of June, the payroll taxes were paid.  Everything was cleared. The AHC payment for them has cleared the bank. A few days later, Intuit does an update to the software. On the second payroll period of the month, the payroll was made and the payroll taxes were paid. When I returned to the payroll liabilities screen to pay the pension liabilities, the payroll taxes from the first payroll period of June are showing as being owed. The very same ones that were already paid and cleared the bank. How do I get rid of them? If I do a payroll liabilities adjustment, is this going to upset what has already been paid? Before you respond, let me tell you, I have become very distrusting of the information that Intuit provides for fixing problems caused by their own program. I have performed some of the instructions Intuit has provided, only to have the problem worsen on other issues.

Thanks for posting your question here in the Community, BWright2.

I want to make sure the payroll taxes that have already been paid no longer show as due in your QuickBooks Online account.

As an initial troubleshooting step, I recommend clearing the cache to rule out any browser related issues. If the cache becomes full of older data, it can potentially cause certain viewing and performance errors within the system. Clearing it will get everything operating on the same page once again. Here's how to get this done in Chrome for example:

1. At the top right, click More (vertical ellipses), and then Delete browsing data.
2. Choose a time range, like Last hour or All time.
3. Select the types of information you want to remove.
4. Click Delete data.

The following article provides similar steps for other browsers: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, even though the transaction has cleared your bank, it may not have cleared within the QBO platform. This can be resolved by manually recording the payment in QuickBooks Online so the software recognizes the balance is settled. Of course, it's always a good idea to discuss these types of actions with your accountant. If you don't currently have one, you can find an accountant specifically trained in QuickBooks in your area by searching here: Find a ProAdvisor.

First off, thank you for responding. I have to start by saying, I do not, nor do I want, Online QuickBooks. I was able to get some assistance from customer service payroll, and he was able to assist me with this issue and an issue I had been having since February.
