Hello,

how do I run payroll after July 1 if cannot set up automatic payments because I am unable to verify the bank account information as the owner doesn’t have SSC number?

To run your payroll without a Social Security Card/Number, you can switch your employee’s payment method to manual paper checks. This ensures your employees are paid on time while you work on obtaining the necessary documentation.

Here's how:

  1. Go to All apps, click the Payroll dropdown menu, and select Employees.
  2. Click on the employee's name to open their profile.
  3. Locate the Payment Method section and click Edit.
  4. Change the dropdown selection from Direct Deposit to Paper Check, then click Save.
  5. Run payroll for those employees. The system will automatically process them using the paper check method. (Please note that you will need to track and calculate your deductions and contributions manually.)

After running your payroll, you will need to print the checks using voucher check stock to hand over to your employees or mail them to their addresses. For a step-by-step visual guide on configuring your check layout and printing preferences, you can check out this article: Print or reprint paychecks and pay stubs.

However, you still need to get a Social Security Number as part of the mandatory requirements to file your taxes and forms automatically within QuickBooks. Please reach out to the Federal agency (IRS) to process this and update it in QuickBooks as soon as possible.
