I'll help you pause the paycheck with the deduction that is not garnishment, Andy. I'll walk you through the steps.
In QuickBooks, we can zero out the paycheck to ensure this deduction will pause the employee's paycheck from being deducted. However, this deduction will still appear in future paychecks once you create a new one for the same employee.
To pause a not garnishment deduction from a paycheck in QuickBooks Online (QBO), you can follow these steps:
Go to the Payroll menu in QuickBooks Online and select Employees.
Select the employee for whom you want to delete the garnishment deduction.
Choose the Paycheck list.
Select the paycheck(s) you wish to modify, then selectEdit.
Click Yes.
However, if you want this deduction to no longer appear on the employee's paycheck every time you run a payroll. In that case, we can delete the garnishment deduction under the Deductions and contributions section in the customer profile.
Please note that deleting a garnishment deduction does not affect any amounts already withheld or any legal obligations associated with the garnishment. It simply removes the deduction from future paychecks.
To delete a garnishment deduction from an employee's paycheck, here's how:
Go to thePayrollmenu in QuickBooks Online and selectEmployees.
Select the employee for whom you want to delete the garnishment deduction.
Click on theEditbutton under theDeductions & Contributionssection.
Locate the garnishment deduction you want to delete and select the trash bin icon.
ClickDelete.Once finished, clickDone.
