I'm having issues with placing time on a project. The project does not show up on the list for the client in time sheets but shows up in projects

Let me get the help you need when adding a project to time in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

If you mean that you're unable to see the projects when creating a timesheet, to isolate the issue, let's try opening your account in a private (incognito) window. Using a safe browser and accessing the program from there can usually fix the issue.

To use a private browser, here's how:

Command + Shift + N (Safari)
Ctrl+ Shift + N (Google Chrome)
Ctrl + Shift + P (Mozilla Firefox)

Once logged in, try to create a timesheet and add a project. Check to see if you're able to choose a customer or project. For your reference, you may check out this article for more information: Set up and create projects in QuickBooks Online.

If it works, go back to your default browser and clear cache. See Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online for more information. Before doing so, make sure to take note of your saved passwords and URLs.

Otherwise, switch to a different browser like Firefox, Google Chrome, or Safari. The one you are currently on may be having a temporary issue with QuickBooks, and using a new browser for the moment will allow you to get back to work.

However, if you mean something else, I'd appreciate, if you could provide additional details. I want to ensure this gets resolved for you.

This did not work. I deleted the project and tried again and still no luck. I can see the project in the project list along with several others, however when I try to put time on the project it is not on the list. I can put expenses on the project. Do you have any other ideas or solutions

Our tech support has the tools available to review your account in a secure environment and investigate this issue of its odd behavior. I've included the steps below to connect with support.

Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
Click on Help (?) at the top right.
Enter your concern, then hit Let's talk.
Tap Contact Us to connect with a live support agent.
Choose a way to connect with us (Callback, Chat, Etc.).

Same problem here. Worked for a few months. At random stopped working, I can only enter time to the customer, or subcustomer. Projects not available to enter time to. The response to this thread is unacceptable and provides absolutely no guidance. Standard boilerplate response with no thought given to it. Staying on the line with support wasting hours on this, only to get a person that has no idea how to fix it... This needs a fix!

I'm here to help you with projects created in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

But before that, may I ask if you encounter any error messages? This way, we'll be able to provide the right amount of resolution to get this fix.

There are times that the browser is full of frequently accessed page resources, causing some unusual responses. To fix this, try logging into your QBO account using a private browser (incognito).

Here's how:

Press Ctrl + Shift + N (Google Chrome).
Ctrl + Shift + P (Firefox or Internet Explorer).
Control + Option + P (Safari).

If everything looks good, return to your default browser and perform a clear cache. Every so often the cache becomes overwhelmed with older data which can potentially cause viewing and performance issues. Clearing it will refresh the system, and you'll be able to work with a clean slate. However, if the issue persists, try using other supported browsers.

If the issue persists, I recommend contacting our Support. They have the available tools to check your account and to further investigate your concern. Here's how:

Click the Help (?) icon at the top.
Type Talk to a human.
Enter your issue or question on the What can we help you with box.
Choose I still need a human.
Select the Start messaging option.

I don't know what this even means. I'm talking about putting time from the weekly timesheet to projects. How is setting up automatic invoices even a relevant factor here? Still waiting on a fix....

Quickbook users, I just wrapped up a call with QB Time support and they where able to help me with the issue of projects not showing in Quickbooks Time or Quickbooks Online under the Time entry while being perfectly recorded under customer > projects.

My issue came up when a SYNC failed and the Sync log showed the error "unable to import project = "X" Customer name not found. Since, I was not able to find those projects when trying to add time for that project.

SOLUTION: The solution was a QB hack. Go to your project not showing as an option in Time, change the status of the project from IN PROGRESS to COMPLETED. Rrefresh the screen or navigate to antyhing else in QB so the change becomes saved. Then go to Quickbooks TIME and run a SYNC. If everything was done correctly, your project will no be again visible under the customer in Quickbooks Time.

Repeat the steps for other project with similar issues.

I was able to resolve this problem by deleting the project, recreating the project, and leaving the "start date" field empty when creating the project in the edit project screen.

To anyone having this issue out there, I get it, very frustrating. After reading this thread and trying many of the solutions I came up with a solution that worked for me and I think is the heart of the problem.

I am a Quickbooks Plus + Time user and was having this issue. When I first signed up with time last year they were still using the "classic time" but have since updated time so that it is in the same UI as quickbooks. In the "Overview" tab of the quickbooks time window (in the quickbooks side) you'll see a button that says "Go to classic Quickbooks time." When you click on this it will open a new tab and bring you the "classic" time.

Up at the top click the "Quickbooks" button and then click "Import" from the dropdown menu. This will force a sync between Quickbooks (Projects) and Quickbooks (Time). I think that in the back end they are two separate programs (since Intuit bought TSheets) and if your projects are showing up in Time but are showing up in Quickbooks it is because you're having a sync'ing issue between the platforms. This fixed the issue for me!
