Let me share some with you first some information before performing the steps. You may read through the following:

 

  • It will assist you in deleting data from a QuickBooks Online (QBO) company. If you need to delete all of your Intuit data, learn more about managing data, or visit the privacy center.
  • This does not result in the cancellation of your QBO subscription. Learn how to balance your QuickBooks Online if you have to cancel.
  • If you have banks or third-party apps linked to your company, this will permanently sever the connections.
  • After starting over, you can reuse your current lists and learn more about moving your lists to a new file.

 

If your QuickBooks Online (QBO) data is less than 60 days, you can purge your account using QBO Plus, Essentials, and Advanced. The system deletes all data entered into the company, and you'll no longer restore or reverse them.

 

Here's how to reset an account within a 90-day sign-up:

 

  1. Access your QuickBooks Online account. You must be logged in as the administrator.
  2. Go to the URL in your browser's address bar. Delete all the text and enter the following web address instead: https://app.qbo.intuit.com/app/purgecompany.
  3. To confirm you want to delete your company data, type Yes.
  4. Select OK, then Wipe data.

    Before deleting your account and starting a new one, there are certain things that you should consider to make sure you're ready which are the following: 

     

    • Please note that the steps that I'll be providing below will only assist you in deleting the data for a QuickBooks Online (QBO) company, and not your entire Intuit data. If you want to delete all of your data, you may want to learn more about managing data or visit our privacy center for more information.
    • These steps won't help you cancel your QBO subscription, you may refer to this guide if you want to cancel your plan in QBO: Cancel your QuickBooks Online subscription or trial.
    • Your banks or other third-party apps connected with your QBO account will also be affected.
    • You may also move your lists after starting over. 

     

    In addition, deleting your data in your QBO will depend if you have this account less than or more than 60 days old. If your account is less than 60 days old, you may purge your account by following these steps: 

     

    1. Open your QBO account, and ensure that you log in as an admin. 
    2.  Go to the URL in your browser's address bar, delete all the text, and enter the following web address instead: https://app.qbo.intuit.com/app/purgecompany
    3. You'll be prompted with a message, click Yes if you're certain that you want to delete your company data. 
    4. Click OK, and then Wipe the data. 

     

    On the other hand, if your account is more than 60 days old, you'll need to cancel your current account and then start a new company by signing in to QBO using your user ID and password.
