There are certain factors that you'll have to consider why direct deposit didn't go through. Normally, this can happen for some reason. I've outlined them in bullets:
An employee's bank account information was entered incorrectly.
There's a problem with the employee's bank.
The pay date falls on a weekend or holiday.
The direct deposit payroll was submitted after the cutoff time which is 5 PM Pacific Standard Time. When this happens, the payroll will be processed on the next banking day.
Your employees can receive their paychecks depending on your lead time. In QuickBooks Online, you can enjoy the Same-day or Next-day but mostly direct deposit lead time is five business days.
However, If there's no delay with your submission, I suggest contacting our Customer Care Team. They have the tools to access your account securely and check why your employees didn't receive the direct deposit.
Here's how to reach them:
Click the Help menu in the upper-right-hand corner.
Type in "Talk to a human", then press Enter.
Look for I still need a human and click on it.
Click Get help from a human or Contact Support Team.
Select between Send a message, Schedule an appointment, or Get a callback.
