Is there any way to opt out of the automatic paying and filing of taxes by Quickbooks. They say they're going to cut off my payroll by Sunday if I don't opt in, and i'm not interested.

You can no longer opt out of automated tax payments and filings. As part of this update, manually submitting tax payments or filings through the Workforce Tax Center is no longer available.

If you do not complete the required setup by Sunday, QuickBooks Workforce will temporarily restrict your ability to run payroll until you finalize the authorization. Additionally, you will need to handle payments and filings directly with the tax agencies for all affected taxes, including Q2.

QuickBooks Workforce will now automatically pay and file all configured taxes. This automation reduces your manual tasks, supports tax compliance, and ensures your filings are accurate and on time. For more details, see this article: Updates to QuickBooks Workforce Taxes.
