Per Diem

How do you charge the Per Diem to a single job when multiple jobs are worked in a single pay period. Currently it gets charged evenly to all jobs worked during a pay period. And then my accountant says he has to spend a lot of time going back and doing journal entries to get the Per Diem taken out of the job that should not have it and add it back to the job(s) that should have it.

 

i called quickbooks and the person I talked to had me share my screen and said I have everything set up right but you can’t assign the per diem to a specific job.  She also said to write the feedback with your concern and suggestion for a fix, which would be simple in my option, give us the option to assign it to a job when we put it in the payroll!!

 

This should be a quick fix for quickbooks!!!!

Please know that we're constantly improving our product features to improve our customer's experience while using QuickBooks Desktop. While the option to assign per diem to a specific job is unavailable, I agree with the customer representative you've tried to reach out via phone to submit this feature request to our Product Development Team.

 

I understand that this can benefit you and your business. Thus, sending this suggestion can let them review and determine what features to add for future product enhancements. 

 

Here’s how:

 

  1. From the top menu bar, choose Send Feedback Online.
  2. Click on Product Suggestion.
  3. Click on the drop-down for Type of Feedback and select Product Suggestion.
  4. Select the Product Area, then enter your thoughts and suggestions.
  5. Once done, select Send Feedback.

    I made the product improvement suggestion friday night after I got off the phone with the lady that helped me.  She also put a note in about it.

     

    This should be something that can be fixed ASAP so that accounting is accurate and we don't have to waste HOURS AND HOURS each week calculating and doing journal entries to get costs to the correct job.

      Hello there, KGW. I understand the importance of having a streamlined method for managing per diem rates, especially when they vary by site and must start on specific approval dates.

       

      Currently, QuickBooks Desktop doesn't have a built-in feature to automate per diem tracking based on unique rates or approval workflows.

       

      That said, I recommend sending these ideas directly to our product development team. Your input plays a vital role in shaping future updates.

       

      Here's how you can send your suggestion:

       

      1. Head over to the Help menu, then select the Send Feedback Online option.
      2. Choose the Product Suggestion, and a pop-up window will appear. 
      3. Type your feedback suggestion in the space provided.
      4. Hit the Send Feedback button.
         


       

      In the meantime, you can use Excel as a workaround for tracking.
