Question

Proof Payroll Taxes Were Paid To State, State is denying they received funds.

Hi

How do I find proof or more details on the actual payments QuickBooks Payroll makes to the state?   QuickBooks and my bank show that the money was withdrawn, but the state are saying they didnt receive it.  As the withdrawal from my bank is to QuickBooks the state wont take that as proof that it was paid.   We have tried phone support, but no luck yet.

You can find proof or detailed information about the payroll tax payments made to the state by generating a payment history report, Dive-xtras.

This will show the specific payment details you need, including the amount, date, and jurisdiction. Here’s how to access it:

  1. Log in to QuickBooks and click on Apps from the left navigation menu.
  2. Select Payroll and then Payroll Taxes
  3. In the Payments tab, select Payments History.
  4. Set the date range to cover the period for which you need payment details.
  5. Customize the report to focus on the specific Jurisdiction (state agency).
  6. Select Run Report to generate the details.
  7. You can export or print the report to share with the state as proof of payment.

We have tried that, Those report just show that we paid you (QuickBooks), They are asking for proof and details of the payments that show you (Quickbooks) paid them.  Transaction details from your bank, with details of the account you paid it into.
