I'll share why you don't get payroll history after conversion and give you some insights on what to prepare when setting up payroll in QuickBooks Online (QBO), rfbc17.
Before we start, I'd like to verify if you switched from QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) or another software. If you switch from QBDT to QBO, your payroll history isn't moved over. Once you ran payroll in the current calendar year, you'll need to run payroll reports in QBDT (Payroll Summary by Employee for the calendar year and last quarter and Payroll Summary totals for each check date in the current quarter) and use it as your reference in setting up your payroll in QBO.
If you convert from another accounting software to QBO, you'll have to secure payroll reports, a list of employees together with their federal W-4 forms, payroll history, and other necessary data to set up your payroll in QBO.
Once everything is all set, run your payroll to pay your team on time with QBO Payroll.
