Hi Does anyone know how to securely back up QB. The two companies recommended by QB are based in the US and do not comply with UK GDPR requirements?

 Hello QBDT_ Enquires-o, Welcome to the Community page, we do not have the backup company file in QuickBooks Online since all information is stored on the cloud via secured data server.(automatic back up). However you can upgrade to the QuickBooks Online Advanced version so you can use this feature i.e backup company file. This article tells you more about it .
