Hi there, @littleseedsnurse.

Welcome to the Community. As an overview, an employee is paid for the number of Qualifying Days they are absent. See the Statutory Sick Pay (SSP): employer guide on the gov.uk website for more details about SSP.

Let me walk you through on how to enter statutory SSP for your employee so it will show on a payslip. Here's how:

  1. Go to Employees tab, then select Employees.
  2. Choose the applicable employee.
  3. Click the +  at the bottom of the page, then select Statutory pay.
  4. Enter the First day of leave.
  5. If you’re unsure about the Last day of leave, you can choose to set the end date to the best of your knowledge. Anyway, you can always update it anytime.
  6. Click Save.

For more information, you can also read these steps through Enter Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) under Manage employees section in this help article: QuickBooks Online Standard Payroll Hub. It also contains a link to different topics related to payroll for your future needs.
