How does Quickbooks payroll integrate with Quickbooks online?

So Payroll is a separate plugin for Quickbooks. There is not much in terms of data transfer between Payroll and Quickbooks, the journals will get posted to the Chart of Account so you can keep track of the expenses and liabilities correctly. what type of integration are you interested in?
