Question

Is Standard Payroll no longer accessible? My client has just tried to run their payroll but it's disappeared and is saying there's no subscription.

We can see all the payroll settings and it says a monthly pay run has been processed for May 2026 but it is not accessible. When we go to the payroll tab it just says we have to sign up for either Core or Advanced Payroll. I did an online chat with Intuit and they said that they could not see that the client has ever had a payroll subscription, yet they have been using it every month!

Standard Payroll has been replaced by Core Payroll, which is why you and your client cannot access it in QuickBooks Online. Please check your inbox for the transition email sent by Intuit regarding this change.

When the account reached its final migration cutoff, the system removed the retired Standard subscription flag. This caused the original payroll interface to vanish, replacing it with a marketing splash page to select a new tier. Your historical data remains safe but cannot be accessed until you choose Core or any available subscription plan to reactivate the payroll module.
