Question

Payroll is booked to one wages acct. I have employee hours by project from AutoTask. How can I allocate payroll to 70 QBO projects so costs show in project profitability?

Welcome to the Community, @TheBoy3000.

To show the costs in Project profitability, make sure to set hourly cost rates first for each employee in QuickBooks Online (QBO) in the Payroll section.

Afterward, you can either create a Weekly Timesheet or a Single Time Activity for each employee in QBO, using the employee hours from AutoTask.

Here's how:

1. In the Search box located at the top, type 'time'.
2. Select either Create Weekly Timesheet or Single Time Activity from the options.

3. Enter the timesheet for each employee across the different projects they participated in, then hit Save and close.

Once you've done this, you should be able to show costs when you run Project profitability.
