SSP calculation incorrect?

One of our employees is off sick and im trying to pay him for his first week  (we pay weekly).

As SSP is 96.35 per week I would expect the Mon, Tues and wed to be unpaid and therefor he would receive £96.35/ a 5 day week x 2 qualifying days = £38.54.

Payroll has calculated £55.06.

I cant work out why that amount. I thought maybe because we pay a week in arrears but the pay reference period has been inputted so im at a loss?

Was this ever resolved?

I'm having almost the same problems, when the employee's payslip should be showing a week's SSP at 96.35, it's showing 48.00 as a PAYE rebate

Spent 3 and a half hours on the phone and an hour and forty minutes on web chat so far and no-one has been able to help

Hi Peter,

Yes it was.. I'm wracking my brain to think what we changed for it to calculate correctly.

I'm pretty sure we went onto the employee and changed the "paid irregularly" option to "yes".

If its already on yes.. try selecting no. I cant remember the exact explanation now but I'm sure it was this answer that we changed.

Hello Janinek,

Welcome to the Community page,

Can we ask which payroll it is you are using in Quickbooks, is it our standard payroll or our advanced payroll?

Hi, it's the standard payroll.

Thank you

Hi Janinek, thanks for confirming which one it is you are using in QuickBooks.  We would suggest you contact our live support team, and then you will be able to set up a screenshare with the agent, and they can have a look at the different sections of payroll and see what is going on for you, as it will be quicker and easier for you to do that to get your issue resolved.
