Can I pay a supplier via direct deposit using QB online

Welcome to Community!  QuickBooks Online Payroll is a dynamic way to pay your employees with direct deposit.  However, when it comes to paying suppliers, the direct deposit feature is unavailable.  I'd be happy to provide more information so your books remain accurate!

QuickBooks Online enables you to record a Direct Debit or E-Transfer as the Payment method for your suppliers.  However, you'll need to complete the transaction outside of QuickBooks. Here's how;

1. From the left menu, open +New and then Expense

2. Enter the Payee, Payment account and Payment date

3. Use the dropdown menu in the Payment method field and select Direct Debit or E-Transfer

4. Complete the remaining required fields and hit Save and close

The transaction has been recorded and you're ready to log into your bank's website to complete the payment.
