How can we delete a tax agency in QBO.

Hi there, 

 

Since this is your first post in happy to give you a hand with deleting a tax agency in QBO.

 

Making a sales tax rate inactive removes it from your QuickBooks Online interface. However, to preserve data integrity you can't delete it completely. 

 

Here's how:

  1.     In the Tax Centre, click Edit Tax.
  2.     Select Edit Rates.
  3.     Choose the Tax you want to delete/inactive.
  4.     Under column, choose Edit.
  5.     Click Make Inactive.

Then making inactive accounts in the chart of accounts, this will not delete the transaction created in this account. You'll have to delete the transaction if necessary.

How to inactive an account:

  1. Under the Chart of accounts list, select Account history of the account.
  2. Click make inactive.
