How to switch payroll tax filing from monthly to quarterly? ... previously filed PD7A on monthly basis, but CRA now asked me to file Quarterly. How to set this up?

Hi Alrawi:

From the menu, select Taxes, then click Manage sales tax in the upper right.

From there, you can click Edit Agency Settings and change the schedule from Monthly to Quarterly; be sure to adjust the 'next period starts' based upon the last monthly payment you made.

This is incorrect. He’s asking about payroll remittance. You’re advising on sales tax. Two totally different things

Changing your Payroll remittance frequency within QuickBooks Online Payroll is important so I'm glad you're taking the appropriate steps to learn how to do this. This process is straightforward, so I'd love to share the steps.

@LeithG shared the steps for changing your Sales Tax filing frequency, so if that's something you'll need to do you can come back to this thread for those steps as well. When it comes to changing your Payroll Tax filing frequency, the steps are a little different. Here they are:

Go to the Gear icon, then choose Payroll Settings.
Under Taxes click Federal Taxes.
Choose the option to Change or add new frequency.
Enter the new Remittance Frequency by selecting the appropriate one from the dropdow menu.
Choose the Effective Date.
Hit OK to save your changes.

Rebecca- After following your process for switching monthly to quarterly payroll here's the message I received:

You've received a system error that we need to review and resolve for you. Please contact Customer Service for assistance.

When I click on Customer Service it says 404! Sorry, we couldn't find the page you're looking for.
