Thanks for reaching out to us here in the Community. I'd be happy to answer any questions you have about setting up employees in QuickBooks Online. 

 

It's not possible to enter an employee in the system without a SIN number. This information is necessary, as it's used for income reporting purposes. I can appreciate that you may want to add an employee without entering their SIN number, however this is in place to stay aligned with Government regulations. Here's some additional information from the Government of Canada regarding the protection of your Social Insurance Number, when you must provide it, and when you're not required to provide it: https://www.canada.ca/en/employment-social-development/programs/sin/protect.html.
