Is there a way to change the expense category for wages from a paycheck? I need some employee salaries to be entered as cost of sales, not wages

Welcome to Community!  It's essential that your transactions are recorded accurately in QuickBooks Online.  Although you can edit your transactions and ensure proper categorization, payroll wages can affect other areas of your books.  In this situation, it's best to reach out to our Customer Care team outside of Community, so they can work with you directly, in a secure setting and get you back to business as soon as possible!

Schedule a Callback or start a Chat: click (?) Help in the upper right in QuickBooks Online > enter "Contact support" > hit Contact Us > provide a brief summary of your situation > hit Let's Talk > choose Get a callback or Start a Chat.
