Question

Is there a way to set up a pay type that allows me to pay someone with a 'daily rate' instead of an hourly rate ?

I"m in core payroll. A client wants to pay the workers a 'daily flat rate' regardless of the #of hours worked. How do I set this up?

Hi Smile, there is no Daily Rate in QuickBooks Core Payroll. It'll only let you choose between hourly or salary.

Since there is no daily option, you can still use the hourly option. You take the flat amount you want to pay for the day and divide it by the hours worked. It ensures the worker gets the exact flat pay while keeping the hours on their paycheque accurate for the CRA.
