Question

My employee hasn't received their pay through direct deposit yet and it's 1pm on payday. How can I check if this has gone through or if there's an error somewhere?

Hello there, Management. Submit your payroll by 5 PM PT at least two business days before payday. If it is sent after that cutoff, it will be processed on the following business day, which will delay their pay by a few days.

Here is the breakdown of the submission deadlines:

  • Submit your request by 5:00 PM PT the day before payday for next-day processing.
  • 2-day: Submit by 5:00 PM PT at least 2 business days before payday.
  • 5-day: Submit by 5:00 PM PT at least 5 business days before payday.

If a holiday fell between your submission and today, it adds one day to the timeline. See this page for more information: How holidays impact payroll direct deposit.

To check the status of your employee's direct deposit and to verify if there is an issue preventing them from receiving their wages, you can contact the QuickBooks Online live support team.

Please let me know if you have any other concerns.
