Hello there, mranjbar. When you say payroll deductions, are you referring to the Source Deduction Remittance (CRA payment) or the Direct Deposit payments sent to your employees?

Since it is now March 22, the weekend and cutoff delays no longer apply. If those were the only issues, the payment would have cleared by March 17.

If this were a Source Deduction Remittance (CRA payment), you'd need to check the status by navigating to Taxes> Payroll Tax> and selecting the Payments tab. If you see a status of Rejected or Failed, it indicates an issue such as insufficient funds (NSF) or a mismatch with your CRA Business Number.

To resolve this, you'll need to record the payment as Paid in QBO manually and then make the payment directly through the CRA Account portal to avoid late penalties.

If it were a Direct Deposit, there are two possible reasons why it fails to process:

  • Incorrect Banking information. Please verify the employee's account and routing number.
  • Bank-Side Issues. The employee's account might be closed, frozen, or restricted.

If your payment fails for these reasons, the funds are rejected and returned to the employer's account within 2-3 business days.

However, since it has now been a full week and the funds haven't returned to you, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Payroll Support team. They can trace the transaction to identify the exact cause and help ensure your employee receives their payment without further delay.
