Welcome to the Community, Seka! We love random questions here. That’s exactly what this space is for, so no apologies needed.

To help you get up and running with confidence, here are the answers to your three main points:

  • If you're looking for a quick course, I highly recommend our QuickBooks Q&A. They are concise, visual, and ideal for mastering the basics without having to sit through a lengthy lecture.
  • You absolutely can reconcile quarterly if that fits your workflow. However, most accountants recommend doing it on a monthly basis. This makes it much easier to spot errors or missing receipts before they pile up over 90 days. You can find the step-by-step guide here: Reconcile an account in QBO.
  • Generally, you want to keep your business books clean. It’s best to exclude personal spending from your business records. If you’ve already used a business card for a personal treat, don't worry! Instead of just deleting it, you can categorize it as an Owner’s Draw (or Equity) so your bank balance still matches. Check out this guide: Pay for personal expenses from a business credit card or bank account.

I’m here if you need a hand with any of those specific steps.
