Question

Hello. I would like to bulk-import Journal Entries. But I do not have the option for Journal Entries. Other people seems to have it. How can I enable it?

The Journal Entries feature in the Import Data section of the Gear icon is available only in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia.

Instead, you can import the entries directly from the Journal Entry creation page. Before proceeding, ensure that the spreadsheet file includes the following information:

  • Journal No.
  • Journal Date
  • Account Name
  • Description
  • Debits
  • Credits

Note: Depending on the Account Name selection (Accounts Payable (A/P) or Accounts Receivable (A/R)), the system will request the Name column to have a supplier selected.

Once your spreadsheet is ready, please follow the steps below:

  1. Click + Create and choose Journal Entry.
  2. Select Import and find your CSV file.
  3. Click Open and then hit Next.
  4. Map your information. CSV Column headers represent the headers on your spreadsheet. From each header ▼ dropdown, select the one that matches a field in QuickBooks Online.
  5. Choose Next. If there's an error, edit the file and try again.
  6. Select Start import and choose OK.
