somehow 3 months of transactions are not showing up for last year. I'm preparing to file before 10/15 for 2025

To get your missing 2025 data into QuickBooks Self-Employed QBSE and run your report before the October 15 deadline, you'll need to export your bank statement and manually import the missing 3 months of data using a CSV file.

When you link a bank account, most financial institutions only automatically pull the last 30 to 90 days of data. Since you are filling gaps for last year, the automated bank feed won't go back that far.

To download your bank statement, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your bank or credit card's online portal.
  2. Find the document download or transaction export section.
  3. Set your custom date range specifically to cover the 3 missing months of 2025.
  4. Export or download the file as a CSV (Comma Separated Values) file.
  5. Open the CSV in Excel or Google Sheets to ensure it includes Date, Description, and consistently formatted dates like MM/DD/YYYY, and ensure that positive and negative numbers accurately reflect income vs. expenses.

To import the missing transactions, you can refer to this article for the detailed steps: Add older transactions to QuickBooks Self-Employed

Once the transactions appear in your feed, categorize and run your Profit and loss report.

Here's how:

  1. Head to your Transactions tab.
  2. The newly imported data will appear as Uncategorized. You must manually code these as Business Income or Business Expense and assign them to the correct Schedule C categories. Transactions will not show up on your P&L report until they are designated as business transactions.
  3. Once categorized, go to the Reports menu on the left panel.
  4. Look for the Profit and loss report.
  5. Set the custom date filter to Last Year 2025 and select View or Print.

Good luck getting everything wrapped up before the October 15 deadline. If you run into any issues while mapping your columns or categorizing your transactions, feel free to reach out. Have a wonderful weekend.
