Thanks for reaching out to us, Emmanuel! Sometimes, a user's session may become corrupted or inactive after being logged in for an extended period that leads to import function not working properly.
To resolve this, you can sign out from your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account to clear the session and sign back in to refresh and reload everything resolving any temporary glitches.
Another common reason for the import button not responding is related to the file format you're attempting to upload. QuickBooks only supports specific formats, such as Excel (.xls) or CSV files, for importing data. If the file format or structure doesn't adhere to QBO's requirement, the import process may fail.
To ensure the file format is correct:
Verify your invoice file matches the template provided by QuickBooks. You can download a sample file to make sure you’re using the correct structure. Here's how:
Click the Gear icon in the upper-right corner of QBO.
Select Import Data.
Choose Invoices and click on the Download an Example hyperlink.
Confirm that each spreadsheet complies with the QBO import limits:
Maximum of 1,000 rows per file or up to 100 invoices per spreadsheet at a time.
Files that exceed these limits may cause the import process to fail. If needed, split large files into smaller spreadsheets and attempt the import again.
