2024 QB Desktop R13P Windows update "patch" fails

My first Community post - the latest update or patch notice upon opening fails with 3 errors: 1712, 1603, and 1311.Source file not found, with the last being the issue. The install is on local PC, with company files on a different PC with DSM. Before update all was good. The issue seems to be the update installer, it cannot find the file: C:Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp\QbS0BC533F1\qbooks\Data1.cab - because the file Data1.cab does not exist in the users AppData folder - the path and folder are there, but not the Data1.cab. The user in this instance has ADMIN privilege's.

Any suggestions apprecaited.

You can utilize the QuickBooks Tool Hub to address errors 1712, 1603, and 1311, @ffremaux. I'll outline more details about these errors and the steps for troubleshooting.

To begin with, error 1712 occurs because of one or more missing Windows components. To resolve it, follow these steps to download and install the QuickBooks Tool Hub:

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. Download the most recent version (1.6.0.8) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  3. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
  4. Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  5. When the installation finishes, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.

Next, you can use the Quick Fix My Program tool from the QuickBooks Tool Hub:

  1. In the QuickBooks Tool Hub, select Program Problems.
  2. Select Quick Fix My Program.
  3. Retry installing QuickBooks.

For further guidance, refer to this guide: Error 1712 when installing QBDT.

You'll also prompt error 1603 during the installation of QBDT or when launching it after installation. To rectify this, you can use the QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool, once you have installed the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Follow these steps to proceed:

  1. Open the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  2. In the tool hub, select Installation Issues.
  3. Select QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool. Let the tool run. It can take up to 20 minutes.
  4. When the tool finishes, restart your computer.

For more solutions, you can check this resource: Fix error 1603 when you install QBDT.

Lastly, error 1311 indicates a problem with your QBDT files, either due to corruption or a compatibility issue. To resolve this, try running QuickBooks as an administrator, updating to the latest version, and potentially using the QuickBooks Tool Hub to repair the program.

Furthermore, explore this article to learn how to change the data, adjust columns, edit the header/footer, and choose different fonts and styles for your report: Customize reports in QBDT.

Please feel free to drop a comment below, if you have further concerns about the errors you've encountered or other QBDT-related concerns. I will answer them in any possible way.

I have followed all the steps, but still can't open my Quickbooks. This has happened to me before and I do not remember the steps that were taken then. Please remote in and help.
