In May, my business computer was blocked by Intuit. I was told “for security reasons”. They just confirmed that my device has a device block on it. I ended up having to buy a new laptop. After 6 weeks on my new laptop I am in the same situation only this time I am allowed to sign in through Firefox but no other browsers. I prefer Chrome but not allowed to use it. I don’t know why they keep doing this to me without any explanation or suggestion on how to prevent it from happening again. Has anyone else had this block and get them to remove the block??  I can’t keep buying new computers for no reason.

Have you tried using the private/incognito browser?

Yes. Tried all the things. Incognito browser, new chrome profile, uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome. I’ve cleared the cache, cookies, browsing history, passwords. The only thing I am able to do from my new laptop is sign into QBO from Firefox or the QBO desktop app. Even answering this question now I can’t do from Firefox on my laptop. I have to use my phone. So annoying. I don’t think I can stand reading “Quickbooks has your back” any more.

In that case, it's time to consider QB Desktop.

I need to share QB with my clients. Desktop is not an option.

You can purchase a license from a trusted retailer at a discounted price. You can then host it with a 3rd party provider so that you and your clients can access it via the internet.

QB desktops going away. I’m already using it for payrolll and a few clients but migrating everyone over to QBO. My issue is that Intuit has blocked my device. Like I said, even these discussion forums are not accessible to me now.

They still maintain Desktop Enterprise. Try using a trusted VPN to verify this issue. If you still cannot access QBO, it appears that Intuit's servers have the capability to block MAC addresses, not just IP addresses. Buying a new computer does not guarantee that you won't encounter the same problem down the line.

Yes I know they’re still supporting desktop. The fact is I am moving away from it. As for a VPN would that prevent me from being blocked on a new device?  Or are you suggesting I try logging in from a VPN on this device?  If that’s an option I am willing to try it.
