I can't send an email from quickbooks

Hi there, @sheehye. 

There are possible reasons why you were unable to send email in QuickBooks.

It might be that your anti virus software may be blocked the email you send from QuickBooks.

To change the system permissions, you can edit your INI system file to give QuickBooks the entirely permission.Here's how: 

1. Open QuickBooks Desktop.
2. Press F2 . Then hit F3 to open the Tech Help window.
3. Go to the Open File tab.
4. Find ad choose QBW,ini from the list. Then select Open File. This will open the file in Notepad.
5. In Notepad, add a new line at the bottom of the text. Add[QBWEBMAIL]CUSTOM_CERT_ENABLE=1 to the line.
6. Go to File and select Save. Then close Notepad.
7. Close and restart QuickBooks.

Though, If you encounter an error in webmail (Gmail or yahoo), you can assess your setting and filter preferences. These may be blocking your emails from QuickBooks by accident.  

Here's how to check password issue on Gmail:

1. Follow the steps to enable access for less secure apps & your google account.
2. You want to control access to less secure apps, like QuickBooks.
3. You can go in to QuickBooks and send email to your send to test it.

For Yahoo, you can follow this steps below:

Yo can use Yahoo Mail a 2- step Verification process.  Evaluate your security settings:

1. Go to your Yahoo Account Security page.
2. Turn on the Two-step verification and Allow apps that use less security sign in feature  
3. Return to QuickBooks and send a test email yourself.

If you still can't send email, use the Generate third-party app passwords tool. 

It will ask you to create random password that you can connect QuickBooks.
