My hard drive went down on my old laptop so I'm trying to restore everything.  I have the installation disc but every time i attempt to install Windows Security says it has a Trojan Horse and will not complete the installation.

Please know that QuickBooks (QB) 2008 is no longer supported by our system due to its outdated status, Boliver1936.

To begin with, is the CD from Intuit or a third-party vendor? As this plan is outdated and no longer supported in our system, we are unable to provide additional assistance. You may want to seek guidance from an IT expert to help with removing any possible viruses.

However, we cannot assure the success of the installation as the installer is discontinued and not compatible with the present system. You may want to consider using QB Enterprise or QuickBooks Online.

 We also have resources for QuickBooks Online and QB Enterprise to guide you through your next steps:

Furthermore, I will share these two valuable resources in case you need them regarding the service discontinuation of QuickBooks:

@Boliver1936

Consider purchase a newer, non subscription license to upgrade your version (2016 or later).

You don't mention what version of windows. Important.

Regardless, there is no threat on that 2008 instal disk so disable your security software, install  quickenbooks and don't forget to hit Control P  to enter your validation number. Don't call intuit, that is an old procedure that you should have only needed to do once...the day you got your validation code.  The software won't prompt you for the validation code, it simply tells you to call intuit for authorization. But you likely forgot the first time you installed it and called that number and received your validation code. That is when they told you to hit cntrl P to open the prompt.  And intuit doesnt tell you about the validation code over the phone, they like to talk you into buying new software...it almost worked for me.  Im using 2008 quicken pro on Win 10.
