Let me share some browser information for you, @seamistpools.

QuickBooks Online supports multiple browsers, such as Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and Microsoft Edge. To know the requirements on the specs and other supported browsers, check this article: System requirements for QuickBooks Online.

Generally, the browser that has the best performance recommended is Google Chrome. You can also check this article to show you the other ways to improve the browser's performance: Why is my QuickBooks Online slow?.

The Community has your back, so please let me know if I can be of additional assistance. Hope you have a great day.

@seamistpools

Out of the popular browsers, Google Chrome is the recommended browser with QuickBooks Online.

Hi

Are there any problems using other browsers as most people I know have now switched to Edge ?

Thanks for asking about this, peter.colback.

There has been no problem using other browsers when running QuickBooks Online (QBO). Moreover, we recommend using Google Chrome for it works best with QBO.

For a list of QBO's supported browsers and other system requirements, kindly visit this article: System requirements for QuickBooks Online, Accountant, and QuickBooks Self-Employed.

To help you with the future task and tips when using QBO, you might want to visit our Help Articles.

Get back to me if you need help with something else. I'd be happy to assist. Enjoy the rest of the day!

In the last six months or so, I have experienced problems with QBO...

on Firefox for Windows 8 & 10: report parameters will flash back and forth between previous and customized parameters, especially dates and never stop doing that. Also, selection lists, including clients and accounts, will not open or will open with no selections.

on Chrome for Windows 8 & 10: Selection lists, including clients and accounts, will not open or will open with no selections.

on Edge for Windows 8 & 10: Generally better reliability for all functions.

It seems the browsers or the QBO have a constant romantic triangle (or square) that causes one to work better than another. There are probably some very particular insignificant settings on the browser or the machine that may impact this, but I have seen consistency within my team across different PC brands and OS releases.

I may have some feedback for Apple-capable browsers somewhere down the line in a few months depending on how things go in general with changing some technology now that so much is in the cloud.

Hello there, @coveryourassets.

I wish you didn't have to experience these browser issues this long when using QuickBooks Online (QBO). I've got the necessary fixes to help you get around the issue.

There are several basic troubleshooting steps you can perform when you encounter browser problems when visiting QBO. Here are the following:

  1. Restart the browser by exiting and opening it again.
  2. Clear the browser's cache and cookies.
  3. Add Intuit as a trusted site

If the issue persists after performing basic browser troubleshooting, I highly recommend contacting our support. They have access to a screen-sharing tool that can further investigate your issue. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help icon.
  2. Click the Search tab and select Contact us.
  3. Provide a brief summary of your concern, and click Continue.
  4. You can either choose Chat with us or Have us call you.

Please also make sure that you're using an updated and supported browser to have a better experience with QBO.

You are always welcome to go back to this thread if you have further concerns about navigating through your QBO account. Keep safe!

Whenever I have the need to ring support - quite frequently - the first resort is always 1. Clear your cookies and cache.

Why is this?

Also, im told that Intuit runs best on Chromium.

Why?

Xero doesnt work this way

Neither does MYOB

Nor Mint

Can we just fix this?

I use Brave for security.

I dont trust Chrome.

Hello, zapkvr.

I can share some information about the supported browsers in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

In a case-to-case basis, we would normally suggest clearing the cache for common errors and any cache-related issues happening in QuickBooks Online. However, for more complex error messages, we would check and verify if that prompt is a reported issue or not.

In any case, the troubleshooting steps that we provide depend on the kind of issue you're having. Can you tell us more about the issue you're encountering? That will help us provide you with an accurate solution.

QuickBooks Online can run on any supported and updated browsers. Although, other users' experiences when running QBO may vary from browser to browser (including Chromium). Brave is based on Chromium, so we would be able to run QBO on it. We would just want to make sure it is updated to ensure smooth performance and navigation.

However, you can find other browsers we support in this article (if you have other preferences): System requirements for QuickBooks Online products.

In the event that you need help with the product navigation, you can find step-by-step video tutorials here: Videos for QuickBooks Online.

If you have any other concerns or questions about the browsers that you use when logging in to your account, let us know.
