Why have the last couple of Updates taken over an hour to install?

This is getting ridiculous. We don't have hours to waste being locked out of Quickbooks. We need to be able to disable automatic updates! Also, why the hell has it been taking to long to install these updates? Who has over an hour to wait for an update to install. Thats worse than Windows at this point. Before you ask, it has taken that long on several different servers and computers, so its not a computer issue.

Hello. I appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns. Updating installations can be time-consuming, especially when you depend on QuickBooks for your business operations. I'm here to help you with these challenges.

Several factors can contribute to updates taking longer than expected. These include the size of the updates, your internet connection speed, the performance of your computers, background processes running simultaneously, and outdated systems.

We've also been investigating reports of program updates appearing to be frozen or stuck. After several weeks of research and collaboration with Microsoft, we've implemented a tool to help resolve this issue. The Add Defender Exclusion tool is now part of the latest QuickBooks Tool Hub (version 1.6.0.6 or later) found under the Installation Issues tab. For guidance on downloading and installing the tool, visit this article:
Fix common problems and errors with the QuickBooks Desktop Tool Hub.

Recent findings indicate that the real-time scanning feature of Microsoft Defender can considerably prolong the update process. Using the Add Defender Exclusion tool lets users create exclusions in Microsoft Defender, reducing update time to minutes.

Additionally, the option to turn off automatic updates is currently unavailable in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). We recognize that this feature could help speed up your tasks. I suggest sharing your thoughts to help us improve future updates and features.

Here's how to send feedback:

  1. Open QBDT.
  2. Navigate to the Help menu.
  3. Choose the Send Feedback Online option.
  4. Select Product Suggestion and enter your feedback.
  5. Click Send Feedback.

Why don't you all listen to your user base? Disabling the option to turn off automatic updates is CRIMINAL. Thats insane. Also, we have Gig internet, a server with 48GB memory and 24 cores. This is not an issue with the hardware. Its a problem with the software! It installed no faster than a computer with 8GB of ram and 4 cores. That tells you right there its a software issue.

An hour, I wish, I'm going on over 24 Hrs and I'm at 72%, what can I do to resolve this?  It's not every update but I've had several that have taken hours, I still have gotten through this one.

Thats insane! But that honestly sounds like a hardware issue on that one. Hopefully they can figure out these issues and remedy them though.
