Question

Will Quickbooks be updated to allow MTD for Corporation Tax in 2026, or will I need to source another package to allow me to still be legal?

I currently submit Accounts to HMRC manually as we are a micro-company. In 2026 I will need compatible software in order to do this. Currently Quickbooks is not compatible, so is this problem being addressed?

I'll share some information regarding Making Tax Digital (MTD), Ken.

There is no need for you to seek another accounting software solution, as we are currently addressing this issue. Our team is working to comply with HMRC guidelines and gradually updating our systems to meet the requirements for Making Tax Digital (MTD) for Corporation Tax in 2026, with a primary focus on VAT. We will provide an announcement regarding this matter soon.

Moreover, when you make a VAT payment to HMRC or receive a refund from them, you need to create a record so that you can make a match with the associated bank transaction.

Let us know if you have other questions about MTD. We want to ensure everything is taken care of for you.
