Sales and cost of sales duplicate in chart of accounts. Why?

I know why Sales and Cost of Sales show duplicates on your Chart of Accounts, @danie_hayward-ca.

There could be two Sales accounts that are set up, reason why the duplicate is showing. I recommend you review the accounts by going to your bank register and ensure there's only one account that's added.

After that, double-check which Income or Expense account the items are linked to specifically. Here's how:

1. Click on the Gear icon.
2. Under Lists select Products and Services.
3. Locate the item then click on Edit to open its details.
4. Review the Income and Expense accounts.

I'd also advise reaching out to your accountant in case you'll need to make changes to the accounts. They'll be able to give you the best accounting advice to keep your books in order.
